Forward - Upward - Internetward

Two maxims are the explicit guiding-lines of the Ratsgymnasium: tradition and innovation.

In this context, our understanding of tradition is the same as that of the French writer Jean Jaurès: It does not mean "preserving the ashes" but "fanning the flames".

The Ratsgymnasium is an old school (celebrated its centennary in the year 2000!), but it has stayed young, open to innovations, to experiments, to creative ideas, to modern technology.

On the old schoolyard, a new complex has been raised, consisting of 18 rooms (including some for physics and information studies), a break hall, a "Campanile", a transparent footbridge and green areas. Either part of the school building epitomizes tradition and innovation respectively, thus the transition from the 20th to the 21st century has been made visual.

By the way, we have our "school programme", in which subject matters and objectives, i. e. the "philosophy" of the Ratsgymnasium, will be presented. We - that is teachers, parents, students, parents and headmaster in mutual cooperation.
